I adopt an empathic and individualised approach towards neuropsychological evaluation for adults with known or suspected neurological disorders. I use careful clinical observation together with neurocognitive testing to develop an understanding of each client's cognitive strengthens and weaknesses. The neuropsychological assessment also allows me to characterise the nature and severity of the cognitive and functional difficulties experienced by my clients. This valuable information is used to aid in diagnosis and prognosis, as well as intervention planning and monitoring over time.

The primary objective of neuropsychological rehabilitation is to improve the quality of life of individuals with neurological disease or injury. This may involve cognitive, behavioural, emotional, and social factors. I aim to help my clients understand, process, and adapt to the consequences of their neurological insult through one-on-one sessions where we discuss and explore these difficulties and experiences to gain insight and develop new ways of coping.

Receiving a neurological diagnosis and living with the consequences can be difficult for the individual as well as their family and caregivers. Understanding the diagnosis, and what to expect, is the first step towards managing the condition and coping with the resulting changes. I offer psychoeducational and ongoing support for individuals and/or their families to help in the process of accepting and adapting to these changes with the hope of improving quality of life for all.
I am contracted into most major medical aid schemes and charge medical aid rates. Inpatient services are rendered following referral by your treating doctor. Accounts are submitted directly to your medical aid. However, you will be liable for settling the account in the rare instance that authorisation for in-hospital treatment is not approved by the medical aid.
Outpatient services are offered on a cash or medical aid basis. Medical aid rates apply for those claiming directly through medical aids. Before engaging outpatient services, it is your responsibility to enquire from your medical aid what cover (if any) you have for psychological services. Please note that you are liable for settling the account should the medical aid reject the claim or should there be a co-payment.
Initial consultations are required for all new clients. These sessions are 60 - 90 minutes.
Diagnostic assessments typically require 3-4 sessions. Sessions are billed per hour or part thereof, according to the duration required. The assessment includes an in-person or virtual feedback session but does not include a neuropsychological report.
Where required, written reports will incur an additional charge based on the extent of reporting required.
Rehabilitation is a medium to longterm process involving weekly, fortnightly, or monthly sessions. Sessions are 50 - 60 minutes in duration.
The number of sessions required for individual/family psychoeducational and support varies on a case by case basis. Sessions are 50 - 60 minutes in duration.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to schedule a consultation or want to learn more about how I can assist in your clinical care.
